What Doest Thou Here? – May 2019 Update

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Greetings and Blessings from stormy and unusually wet North Texas. We are in the late days of spring which usually means sunshine and summer temps here. But apparently Global Warming was cancelled for us this year. We’ll enjoy the cool while we have it and thank God for it, Amen?

I studied and preached a series on the Prophet Elijah this spring. I thrilled as God took a nobody from nowhere through the School of Faith as a preparation for His man to stand and be victorious in the Battle of Faith, to fall on his face, pray by Faith until the drought was broken. To outrun Ahab’s Corvette Chariot in the marathon of the mountain. What a great victory of faith. At that very moment of great Faith, though—one word from the devil-woman, Jezebel sends him 40 days and 400 miles in defeat and retreat. Till God, at the door of the cave says “What doest thou here”?

In the face of the wicked state of the world, the empty pews of the churches, the apathy of Christians to needs, He surely must be also asking us, at the door of the church today, “What are we doing here”?— Do you think…?

We have been busy at Texas Theological University and Seminary. All courses are being prepared and are now offered On Line via Internet. This is a local church, King James Bible, Baptist Doctrine College out of Metropolitan Baptist Church. Trying to offer an economical education for busy pastors and working laymen in churches who cannot drop it all and go to school. At present we offer degrees through Doctorate in four lines of study: Theology, Ministry, Missions, and Christian Education.

The burdens to each of the called, sometimes are heavy. We need each other. I ask you to pray one for another. Break down walls of division so the Lord can work in our day. The needs are great but our God is Great.  Please pray for this ministry. It is a Faith ministry. We seek to be a ministry of encouragement to Pastors and to local Churches. We take every invitation seriously and ask God to bless us and allow us to be a blessing where we go. With Paul I ask; “Withal praying also for us…That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” Col 4:2-4
