Blessings and greetings to each of you from chilly and sunny North Texas. Thanks for your friendship, texts, calls, messages and support during these days. The Lord encourages us together with you in this work of exhortation in the Word and preaching the Gospel in local churches. The ministry which He has made us the stewards of and accountable for.
By the way, all of us as Christians are stewards of the Gospel, the priority of our lives should be extending the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ to those we come in contact with. That was His last word to His Church (That’s us folks). What a great privilege that He has entrusted us with this responsibility. But with great privilege comes great accountability.
Activities and Churches we have been involved with
We shared a camping vacation with our Grandson and his family in central Texas the first two weeks of October. Brandon & Sarah have 4 children and pastor in Logansport, Indiana. A highlight was hearing him explain to his family that they had walked in tracks made before Noah’s flood at the Dinosaur State Park.
I was privileged to Preach Missions Conference at my home church, Metropolitan Baptist Church, Ft. Worth, TX, Pastor Jim Turner. Brother Rick Carter Jr. taught each morning, a great week.
We had a special Sunday with Christ Centered Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Ed Justice, Ft. Worth, TX. This Pastor and people are building a God honoring church there.
I taught OT Historical Books II at Texas Theological University, Metropolitan Baptist Church, Ft. Worth, TX. This was a modular online class that was recorded and is now made available as an internet course. We have most of our courses available for on-line study now and continue to work to that end each week. This is a big help to students who are in remote locations. It makes preparation and education for Bible preaching and teaching available to almost anyone in any location.
We were at Old Fashioned Round-Up Sunday at Star Baptist Church, Pastor Rick McClaskey, Keota, OK. We count it a blessing to be at this meeting each year. It’s a special day of refreshing for Susie and I always.
I had some health issues and was forced to cancel some planned meetings and events in recent days. This is something kind of new to me. I mention to ask you who pray, to remember Susie and I in this. As stewards of the Gospel it is imperative that we be stewards of our body, the vessel that God chose to use. And I want to be as available for His use as a saved sinner can be, don’t you?
Where We Are
It seems impossible but we are closing in on the end of 2018. This has been another very eventful year. We have been kept busy sometimes as we look back it seems a blur of activity. But every message, each day, every opportunity, every individual, every need of hearts was so important that we will give account to the Lord of Harvest. We must admit to failures as well as successes. 1Cor.4:2 “It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.” The question is not the scoreboard, it is rather our faithfulness.
May God find us faithful! Just keep us “looking unto Jesus” as we run the race that He sets before us in 2019. There have been trials, heartaches, and darkness for all of us in our past but one of the promises of Christ’s birth and incarnation is found in Luke 1:78-79, ”…The Dayspring from on High hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Susie and I would like to take this opportunity to wish YOU, YOUR FAMILY, and the CHURCH FAMILIES a very **MERRY CHRISTMAS**AND A**BRIGHT NEW YEAR**
ONE That will bring us closer to our LORD and that will STRENGTHEN our FAITH in JESUS!!!
Friends & Fellow Servants Because of Calvary,
Bro Wayne and Mrs Susie
