Greetings and Blessings from the Hot and Dry Heart of Texas, to our friends and fellow laborers. We are so glad to be able to communicate with you again. We are so blessed to be able to share our blessings and burdens with those of you with kindred spirits and tender hearts.
We are all living on this side of the Kingdom, and we all have trials and temptations here. But James said we should “count it all joy when we fall into these things.” We can do that only when we get past ourselves and our things and look, by faith, unto our Savior, His will and His work. There with Him who sacrificed all for us, whatever we suffer or whatever the cost of our service comes into perspective considering the present life with Him and the promise of Heaven’s splendor and the unfathomable blessings of eternity in the very presence of the Godhead. And that as joint heirs with God’s Precious Son. Remember we serve for a moment, but we rejoice for eternity.
Abraham Lincoln lived in trying times also. Always he seemed to have the answer. In the depths of the bloodiest war this nation ever fought, was able to say, “This too will pass.” David said in his dedicatory song, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” The rich young ruler of Mark 10 went away grieving, from the One who loved him and would have given Eternal Life, because of his great possessions… in this world. We look beyond a veil of tears “unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith”! Can someone sing “Hold on my child, Joy comes in the morning” or “It will be worth it all, When we see Christ.”?

Pray for the days of settling into his routine and for the resettling of the church into the purpose and will of God also. Susie and I are looking forward to all that the Lord wants to do with us this year. We pray often for many friends in the many churches that the Lord has allowed us get to know. Please know that we pray for you that are on this newsletter list. Amid the tumult & turmoil, the straining & striving of these days, we need our Savior’s presence and power more than ever before. We need you Lord!
