We’re Pilgrims and Should Stay Focused – February 2022 Update

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It is a privilege to bring Christian Greetings and Blessings to you. This new year, 2022 has started out tough hasn’t it? It seems that everywhere we turn there is sickness, death, discouragement, and defeat. I am reminded of Matthew 24 “there are many antichrists and false prophets, wars and rumors of wars, famines and pestilences, and earthquakes (natural disasters) in divers places”.  Some of us are struggling with these issues aren’t we? We shouldn’t be surprised.

The Bible frequently pictures the Christian as a pilgrim, traveling through a strange land and over rough terrain, enroute to his Heavenly Home. During the course of his journey he experiences many different things. His path will often be rough and steep. He will face raging storms—difficulties that require great care, courage, commitment and strength. He will need patience for sure, because the journey will push him to his limits. Sometimes we get to the place where all we think about are the difficulties, rather than the delights. We focus on the pain, rather than the pleasure. Then life becomes a burden, rather than a blessing. So how do we keep going? We can by:

  • Keeping our eye upon the prize. By Faith—Heaven is in sight! We’ll be home at last and all will be well.
  • Focusing on our Guide, knowing that Jesus never leads us astray
  • Remembering the exceeding great and precious promise of Scripture; our Heavenly Father cannot lie.
  • Believing that Heaven & Home will be worth it all!

Some of you have prayed for Susie and I recently. We have been down and at home for most of February. We have both had a round with the Covid Virus. We got past that in time for me to have a round with Shingles. But we are doing much better now. We are thankful for Christian friends and are very privileged to have you praying for us. We try to pray every day for sick, grieving, and stressed-out folks we know who are in the midst of all that is going on at this time. Please be in prayer for our home church, Metropolitan Baptist in Fort Worth. Our pastor Jim Turner is retiring and turned in his resignation to the church. We pray for a Spirit filled soul-  conscious, preacher who loves God and God’s church.

There are so many struggling all around us who need our prayers and care. So let’s all be mindful of each other as we face the fiery darts of the deceiver and remember that… “We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.” We love and appreciate you so much, we need the care of one another more than ever. God Bless each of you.

Your Friends and Fellow Laborers,

Bro. Wayne and Mrs. Susie
